Managed communications, community outreach, media, social media, editing, writing, photography, illustration and design, content production and websites.
Designed and managed the production of new websites. For example, www.environmentforkids.com.au , a primary school level interpretation of our State of the Environment Report to engage young people in local environmental issues, that is now used as a resource in schools across Canberra.
Distilled in-depth and complex scientific reports into one-page online summaries with engaging infographics and photographs. For example: What are Scope 3 Emissions? and Environmental Offsets in the ACT.
Used creative online storytelling to engage diverse audiences across the ACT. e.g. Canberra’s Air Quality.

Transformed social media engagement, built new online communities and strategically engaged audiences, showcasing the scientific achievements of the ANU.
Wrote online stories about students, research and alumni that garner thousands of readers, including photography and visual storytelling.
Managed social media accounts, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I developed innovative and fun approaches to digital science storytelling to increase engagement and offer a meaningful user journey. E.g. campus magpies, themed Spotify playlists and a TikTok channel for students to connect during isolation. Comparing April 2019 to 2020, our social media statistics increased in Facebook engagement from 1K to 22K and from 14K to 64K in Twitter impressions.
Engaged the Indigenous community, from incoming undergraduates to current students and alumni, and young women studying and working in STEM.
Woodlands and Wetlands Trust – Communications Manager 2016 - 2019
Established a recognisable and engaging brand for Mulligans Flat Sanctuary (MF) and Jerrabomberra Wetlands, including designing and producing all print and online materials, our annual report, promotional imagery, flyers, signs and merchandise.
Wrote media releases, articles, and social media stories that led to national and international media coverage, including National Geographic, BBC’s National History Unit, AVC News & Radio, Cosmos Magazine, Fairfax articles, TV and radio. This included providing on-the-ground support for David Attenborough’s film crew, who were filming a segment on echidnas in MF.
Managed all social media platforms to engage the local, national and international community in our conservation projects and outreach activities. Increased followers from 1,000 to 10,000 in 1 year on the MF Facebook page.
Managed content development, design and installation of new sanctuary signage and a phone app to provide the public with rich and educational experiences.
Engaged local artists and creatives to run art-science events for the community. Coordinated artist involvement with sanctuaries and ecologists through residencies.
Developed and promoted sold-out, ‘out-of-the-box’ public tours and workshops to support WWT conservation efforts and educate the community.

Australian Wildlife Conservancy – All Rounder 2012, 15, 16
Working on donor events communicating with visitors to Mornington Wildlife Sanctuary in the Kimberley, Pungalina Sanctuary in the NT and Newhaven Sanctuary in Central Australia, about AWC and the benefits of Conservation.

Coordinated and ran a fundraising trip, guiding and facilitating creative and scientific interaction at Pungalina Wildlife Sanctuary in the Northern Territory with renowned Australian artists.

Directed and filmed AWC’s CEO, land managers, rangers and local wildlife at Newhaven Wildlife Sanctuary in Central Australia for a video piece that aired at a major fundraising gala event in New York City.

Produced the media strategy and articles for the ‘Million Dollar Mouse Project’ – an initiative to eradicate all mice off the Antipodes Islands in the Subantarctic.
Centre for Science Communication and Stewart Island/Rakiura Community and Environment Trust – Exhibition and Workshop Director 2015
Produced a multimedia art exhibition and ran a printmaking workshop about conservation on Rakiura to create dialogue about the fate of local wildlife.
